A report of assessment is a piece of paper that provides a more detailed analysis on a specific subject or issue. Assessment reports are usually written to provide a complete analysis of the assessment process but they can be used to determine gaps in knowledge or training requirements.
For example an assessment report might include a list of strengths and weaknesses that are identified by the SWOT (strengths, threats, weaknesses, opportunities and weaknesses) analysis. This information can be used to determine the needed developmental actions for an employee. The assessment report is communicated to the employee’s hierarchy for planning.
Assessment reports can also be used to evaluate the performance of a plan or program. The evaluation can be carried out by a third party, such as an academic institution or a professional group. The evaluation will assist stakeholders to make informed decisions and increase the effectiveness of a program or a project.
A report on evaluation provides a description and objectives of the project or program that is being evaluated. It also includes a brief overview of the findings, identifies challenges and barriers and makes recommendations. The report of evaluation should be non-biased and clearly present its findings and conclusions, using data tables and graphs when appropriate. It should also include limitations or caveats about the evaluation. This can be accomplished by ensuring that the evaluation was well-designed and implemented and by including the results of literature reviews. The report should be written in a concise and clear style and logically organized with headings and subheadings to make it easier to read.
